NEW DELHI: India on Thursday successfully conducted the test launch of the Agni-4 medium-range ballistic missile from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha, validating its operational and technical performance.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the test was carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command, which oversees the country’s strategic missile systems.
In an official statement, the Ministry said the launch successfully validated all operational and technical parameters of the missile, confirming its performance during the trial.
Agni-4 is an indigenously developed medium-range ballistic missile capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear payloads. It forms an important component of India’s strategic deterrence capability and has already been inducted into the Strategic Forces Command.
The successful trial marks another milestone in the continued evaluation and operational readiness of India’s indigenous strategic missile systems.
