ANTF Ladakh recovers Cocaine in Leh, arrests Himachali Man

LEH: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) Ladakh has arrested a Himachal Pradesh resident after allegedly recovering an intermediate quantity of a cocaine/MDMA-like substance from him during a targeted operation in Leh, with investigators now probing the source, intended destination and wider network behind the consignment.

The accused has been identified as Seva Das, a resident of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, who, according to the ANTF, had travelled by air to deliver the suspected contraband.

Acting on credible information, ANTF Ladakh conducted the operation and recovered the substance from Das. Following the recovery, FIR No. 12/2026 was registered at ANTF Police Station Ladakh under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The recovery has prompted a further investigation into the suspected supply chain, with the task force seeking to establish where the substance originated, its intended destination and whether other individuals or entities were involved in its movement.

The nature and exact composition of the recovered substance will be subject to the investigation and applicable forensic procedures; the police release describes it as a “Cocaine/MDMA like substance”.

The operation comes as enforcement agencies continue efforts to prevent narcotic and psychotropic substances from entering circulation in Ladakh. The ANTF said it remains focused on identifying and dismantling drug-trafficking networks and preventing the supply of such substances to the public, particularly young people.

The accused remains subject to the ongoing legal process, while further investigation into the case is underway.
