Army conducts Medical Camp in remote Parma Village under Operation Sadbhavana

LEH: The Indian Army organised a medical camp at Parma village in Ladakh under Operation Sadbhavana, extending healthcare services to residents of the remote high-altitude region and addressing basic medical needs at their doorstep.

The camp was aimed at improving access to healthcare in geographically challenging areas where specialised medical facilities remain limited. A team of Medical and Dental Officers conducted health consultations, medical examinations and distributed essential medicines to villagers.

The initiative witnessed active participation from the local community, including women, senior citizens and school children, who availed themselves of the services provided during the camp.

Army officials said the outreach programme was designed to support community welfare while enhancing access to preventive and primary healthcare services in remote habitations.

Residents appreciated the initiative, noting that such medical interventions are particularly beneficial for vulnerable sections of society living in far-flung areas with limited healthcare infrastructure.

The camp forms part of the Indian Army’s ongoing civic outreach efforts under Operation Sadbhavana, which focuses on community development, welfare initiatives and strengthening engagement with local populations in border and remote regions.

Officials said the programme contributed to promoting community well-being while reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the Indian Army and the people of Ladakh.
