Put Nation first, work for stronger India, progressive Ladakh: Khachu
LEH: BJP Ladakh State President Tashi Gyaltson Khachu on Saturday called upon people to uphold the dignity of the National Flag and work collectively towards building a stronger India and a progressive Ladakh, as he paid tribute to freedom fighters and soldiers on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.
Khachu was speaking after hoisting the National Tricolour at the BJP headquarters in Leh, where senior party leaders, office-bearers, founding members and party workers gathered to mark the national occasion.
Extending Independence Day greetings to the people of Ladakh and the country, the BJP Ladakh chief recalled the sacrifices of those who fought for India’s freedom and those who have laid down their lives in the service of the nation.
He said Ladakh has consistently demonstrated a strong spirit of patriotism and urged citizens to uphold the values of national unity and collective responsibility while contributing to the country’s development.
Senior leaders, including former Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, and BJP Ladakh State Vice President Gyal P. Wangyal, were present at the ceremony.
The gathering also included senior party leaders, founding members and office-bearers from across the Ladakh unit.
Khachu stressed the importance of placing national interest above individual considerations and called for concerted efforts towards strengthening the country while ensuring continued development of Ladakh.
The ceremony concluded with BJP Ladakh reiterating its commitment to national unity, patriotism and the constitutional values associated with India’s freedom struggle.
