NYOMA: Village heads (Gobas) from across Changthang district on Tuesday met Deputy Commissioner Nitish Rajora, IAS, at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Nyoma and raised a range of issues concerning their respective villages, with the district administration assuring that the matters would be examined in accordance with the established administrative procedure.
The interaction centred on local governance and developmental priorities, with the Gobas placing before the Deputy Commissioner issues affecting their villages and offering suggestions aimed at improving public services and accelerating developmental initiatives across the district.
Giving a patient hearing to the representatives, Rajora acknowledged the concerns raised during the meeting and assured them that each issue would be taken up for examination through the prescribed administrative mechanism. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to addressing genuine public grievances in a systematic and transparent manner.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the village heads to directly communicate the requirements of their respective areas, reflecting the district administration’s continued engagement with grassroots institutions to strengthen participatory governance and facilitate responsive decision-making.
Regular interactions between the administration and village representatives are aimed at ensuring that local concerns are effectively communicated and appropriately addressed while supporting the implementation of development initiatives across the newly constituted Changthang district.
