NYOMA: The District Police Changthang will launch a dedicated physical training programme for youth preparing for recruitment as constables in the Ladakh Police, with sessions scheduled at Nyoma and Tangtsey from September 7.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Changthang, Zaheer Abbas Jafri, urged eligible youth from Changthang and other parts of eastern Ladakh to take part in the ongoing recruitment process and make use of the training facility being offered by the district police.
Addressing a media briefing at the District Police Headquarters in Nyoma on Wednesday, Jafri said the online application process for recruitment to the post of constables began on August 29, while the deadline for submitting applications is September 15.
The physical test for the recruitment is scheduled to begin from September 22.
The police have planned the preparatory training programme to help local aspirants improve their readiness for the physical components of the recruitment process. The sessions will be conducted at two locations — Nyoma and Tangtsey — from September 7.
Interested candidates have been asked to register before September 7 at Police Station Nyoma or Police Post Tangtsey. The registration will enable the district police to assess participation and make arrangements, including deployment of expert trainers.
According to the SSP, the programme will allow aspirants to practise under conditions similar to those expected during the actual physical test. It will also help candidates assess their fitness levels, identify areas that need improvement and build confidence before appearing for the recruitment tests.
Jafri said the constable recruitment drive offers an employment opportunity for eligible youth in the Union Territory of Ladakh, particularly those from the Changthang region.
He called upon eligible aspirants to participate actively in the recruitment process and use the preparatory support being provided by the District Police Changthang.
The initiative comes ahead of the physical test and is aimed at giving candidates from the remote Changthang region access to structured preparation before the recruitment process moves into its physical assessment stage.
Jafri reiterated that District Police Changthang would continue to support and facilitate local youth seeking to participate in the Ladakh Police recruitment process.
