SHAM: District Police Sham has announced an orientation programme for aspiring candidates ahead of the upcoming Constabulary recruitment in Ladakh Police, seeking to provide structured guidance to youth preparing to enter the police force.
SSP Sham Malik Aijaz, JKPS, made the announcement while addressing a press conference on Wednesday, where he briefed prospective candidates about the recruitment process, eligibility criteria and other key requirements.
The SSP urged aspirants to carefully read the official recruitment notification and ensure that they fully understand the prescribed eligibility conditions and requirements before applying and preparing for the selection process.
As part of the initiative, District Police Sham will commence an orientation programme from September 10, 2026, specifically aimed at assisting prospective candidates in preparing for the two crucial components of the Constabulary selection process—the written examination and physical endurance test.
The sessions will provide candidates with guidance on the recruitment procedure, examination pattern, prescribed physical standards and effective preparation strategies. The initiative is intended to help aspirants approach the recruitment process with greater clarity, confidence and preparedness.
The move is particularly significant for young people in remote areas who may otherwise have limited access to formal guidance on competitive police recruitment and physical-test preparation.
The upcoming Constabulary recruitment adds another avenue for local youth seeking government employment and a career in law enforcement, coming alongside the ongoing recruitment process for Sub-Inspectors in Ladakh.
With policing offering an opportunity to serve the community while building a professional career, the recruitment is expected to attract candidates from across Ladakh. The orientation programme could help bridge the information and preparation gap between aspiring candidates and the formal recruitment process.
District Police Sham said it remains committed to providing necessary guidance and support in a fair, transparent and systematic manner, reinforcing the importance of candidates relying on the official recruitment notification for authoritative information.
The recruitment drive also carries a broader significance for Ladakh, where opportunities for young people to enter public service are closely watched. For eligible aspirants, the Constabulary recruitment offers a chance to become part of the region’s law-enforcement system and contribute directly to the safety and security of their communities.
The police urged prospective candidates to make full use of the orientation initiative and begin preparations well in advance, particularly for the physical endurance component, rather than waiting until the recruitment process is underway.
