DC Sham reviews Agri Stack rollout, directs faster implementation and Farmer outreach

KHALTSI: Deputy Commissioner of Sham Kunzes Angmo (JKAS) on Friday reviewed the progress of the Agri Stack initiative under the Digital Agriculture Mission and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, directing the Agriculture Department to expedite farmer registration and intensify awareness campaigns to ensure wider adoption of the programmes across the district.

The directions were issued during a virtual review meeting attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Leh, and the Agriculture Extension Officer, Khaltsi, who briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the implementation status of the two centrally supported initiatives.

Reviewing the progress of the Digital Agriculture Mission, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the status of farmer registration, integration of digital land records, creation of farmer databases and other components of the Agri Stack framework intended to modernise agricultural administration and improve service delivery.

Emphasising adherence to implementation timelines, Kunzes Angmo said the Digital Agriculture Mission would facilitate transparent and efficient delivery of agricultural services while enabling farmers to access government schemes and benefits through an integrated digital platform.

During the meeting, the Chief Agriculture Officer and the Agriculture Extension Officer presented an overview of ongoing field-level activities, progress achieved so far, operational challenges and measures being undertaken to accelerate implementation. They also outlined an action plan to strengthen farmer enrolment and improve the execution of both the Agri Stack initiative and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses at the grassroots level.

Taking stock of outreach efforts, the Deputy Commissioner instructed the Agriculture Department to organise regular awareness programmes to familiarise cultivators with the objectives and benefits of the Digital Agriculture Mission and encourage greater participation in the pulses mission.

She observed that sustained awareness and timely registration would be essential for ensuring that eligible farmers are able to access digital agricultural services and government support without procedural hurdles.

The meeting concluded with directions to maintain close monitoring of implementation, strengthen coordination among field functionaries and ensure effective execution of both initiatives across Sham district.
