KHALTSI: Deputy Commissioner, Sham, Kunzes Angmo (JKAS), on Thursday reviewed the status of Village Action Plans being prepared under Phase-II of the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP-II), directing officials to ensure their timely finalisation and submission.
The review meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Khaltsi, and focused on the progress of the proposed plans and the developmental interventions envisaged for border villages under the programme.
Officials discussed a range of proposed interventions covering infrastructure development, tourism promotion, youth development, education and other areas aimed at supporting sustainable and inclusive development in the border villages.
The meeting brought together senior officers and representatives from the district administrations and line departments of Sham, Leh and Kargil. The participants reviewed the status of proposed interventions and discussed measures to strengthen coordination among departments for timely implementation of VVP-II.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed that the Village Action Plans should be comprehensive, practical and aligned with the developmental needs and priorities of individual border villages.
She directed the concerned officers to adhere strictly to the prescribed timelines and maintain close coordination with all stakeholders to ensure that the plans are finalised and submitted without delay.
