LEH: The Defence Accounts Department has planted over 25,000 trees under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative as part of its nationwide cleanliness and environmental conservation drive under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2026’ campaign.
The department’s field offices participated in the two-week-long Swachhata Pakhwada, which concluded with a cleanliness drive at MCD Primary School in Bagdola, Dwarka, New Delhi, led by Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) Alka Nangia Arora in association with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

The department also initiated exercises to identify physical files for weeding out, electronic files for closure, and scrap materials and electronic waste for disposal as part of efforts to improve record management and ensure responsible waste disposal.
The nationwide initiatives were aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental conservation and responsible waste management, while reinforcing the principles of ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ through collective participation.
