99 police personnel begin pre – promotion training
LEH: Director General of Police, Ladakh, Anand Jain on Wednesday called upon police personnel to uphold high standards of integrity, discipline, physical fitness and professional competence as 99 officers and officials began Pre-Promotional Courses (PPCs) at Police Training School (PTS) Stongsar, Chuchot.
Jain, who inaugurated the courses, urged the trainees to make full use of the structured training programme and equip themselves to shoulder the greater responsibilities accompanying their future assignments.
The PPCs are being conducted for personnel undergoing promotion-oriented training for the ranks of Sub-Inspector, Assistant Sub-Inspector and Head Constable, besides five Followers. The courses are aimed at strengthening their professional knowledge, leadership abilities, physical fitness and operational skills before they assume higher responsibilities.
On his arrival at PTS Stongsar, Jain was accorded a Guard of Honour. Principal PTS Stongsar and Commandant IRP 25th Battalion, Altaf Ahmad Shah, IPS, welcomed the DGP and briefed him about the objectives and structure of the courses.
Addressing the trainees, Jain emphasised that advancement in the police service must be accompanied by greater professional competence and a stronger sense of responsibility towards the public.
He stressed the need for continuous learning and physical preparedness, while urging the personnel to approach the training with seriousness and commitment.
DIG LKR Koshal Kumar Sharma, IPS, also addressed the trainees and underscored the importance of discipline, professional competence and continuous learning in the discharge of police duties.
During his visit, the DGP also reviewed the ongoing training of Recruit SPOs and Commandos at PTS Stongsar and interacted with personnel undergoing training.
The programme concluded with a group photograph of the DGP, senior police officers, faculty members and PPC trainees.
