District Police Kargil observes International Yoga Day at DPL

KARGIL: District Police Kargil on Sunday observed International Yoga Day at the District Police Lines (DPL), bringing together police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in a collective exercise aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being and healthy living.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and personnel, who performed a series of yoga postures and breathing exercises designed to improve flexibility, endurance, concentration and mindfulness. The event formed part of broader efforts to encourage wellness and resilience among uniformed personnel tasked with demanding operational responsibilities.

Officials said the observance underscored the growing recognition of yoga as an effective tool for maintaining physical health, managing stress and enhancing mental focus. Participants engaged in various exercises focused on strengthening both body and mind while reinforcing discipline and self-awareness.

Addressing the gathering, Senior Superintendent of Police Kargil, Nitin Yadav, urged personnel to incorporate yoga into their daily routines, stressing that physical fitness and mental alertness are essential for effective policing and professional efficiency. He encouraged officers and officials to adopt healthy lifestyle practices that contribute to long-term well-being and operational readiness.

The programme concluded with participants pledging to promote fitness, wellness and holistic health within the police force and the wider community.

District Police Kargil said the event reflected its continued commitment to the welfare of personnel and its efforts to foster a culture of fitness, discipline and mental well-being across the organisation.
