LEH: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, students of Delhi Public School (DPS) Leh took the spirit of the festival beyond the school premises by visiting the Chief Secretary’s Office and several other government offices to celebrate the sacred bond of love, protection and respect.
The students had the privilege of meeting Ashish Kundra, IAS, at the Chief Secretary’s Office, where they tied Rakhi and expressed their heartfelt gratitude and respect.
The students also visited various offices of education Secretary Bhanu Prabha (IAS), DGP Anand Jain (IPS) and various military establishments like ITBP, 14 CESR, where they tied Rakhis to officers and personnel as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service to the nation and society.
The initiative turned Raksha Bandhan into a meaningful learning experience for the students, allowing them to understand that the festival is not merely a celebration of familial bonds but also a beautiful expression of respect, gratitude, harmony and togetherness.
Principal Dr. Sonal Mediratta (Hons)guided and encouraged the students throughout the initiative. Her vision of providing students with meaningful experiences beyond the classroom enabled them to connect with the wider community and imbibe values of empathy, gratitude, patriotism and social responsibility.
The initiative reflected her commitment towards holistic education, where students are encouraged to learn not only through books but also through real-life interactions and experiences.
The school management appreciated and applauded the sincere efforts of Principal in providing students with such meaningful opportunities to connect with the community and uphold Indian values.
The warm interaction with the dignitaries and officials made the occasion memorable for the students and left them with a deeper understanding of the importance of service, respect, responsibility and learnt about governance by interacting with dignitaries.
