Drass gears up for Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

DC reviews preparations, rallies and cleanliness drives planned

DRASS: Deputy Commissioner Drass Imteeaz Kacho on Sunday reviewed preparations for the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, with bike, cycle and public rallies, cleanliness drives and patriotic beautification activities planned across the district from August 9 to 17.

The preparations were discussed during a meeting chaired by Kacho and attended by Superintendent of Police Ishtyaq Kacho, Tehsildar (HQ) Abdul Aziz, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools of Drass and Bhimbat, ZEO Mohammad Ibrahim, Assistant Professor at GDC Drass Dr Sajjad Hussain and other officials.

The Deputy Commissioner directed departments, educational institutions and the local community to ensure wider participation in the campaign and make the celebrations more engaging, particularly for students and young people.

It was decided that bike and cycle rallies, along with a public rally, would be organised at different locations on separate dates during the campaign. Government offices and educational institutions have also been asked to hold internal events independently and share photographs of the activities.

The administration will also undertake cleanliness and beautification drives as part of the campaign. School and market walls are proposed to be painted with patriotic themes with the participation of students and members of the public, giving Drass a festive appearance.

Kacho also directed officials to ensure proper arrangements for the reception and coordination of bikers taking part in the rallies, with responsibilities to be assigned to the concerned Nambardars. Officials were further asked to explore the use of drones for aerial coverage of the celebrations and rallies.

The Deputy Commissioner called upon all departments, educational institutions and residents to work collectively to make the campaign a public celebration centred on patriotism, cleanliness, youth participation and community involvement.
