KARGIL: Director, School Education Ladakh, Syed Sajjad Qadari, has called for sustained efforts to strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in schools, urging master trainers to share the knowledge acquired during a district-level capacity-building programme to improve learning outcomes among young students.
Addressing the valedictory function of a three-day FLN Master Trainers’ Training Programme at DIET Kargil, Qadari emphasised that strengthening foundational learning remains essential for improving the quality of school education. He also stressed the importance of integrating moral education with academic instruction to support the holistic development of children.
The training programme, organised by DIET Kargil in collaboration with the 17000 ft. Foundation, was conducted from July 20 to 22 to build the capacity of master trainers for the effective implementation of the FLN initiative across schools in Kargil district.
Encouraging participants to translate the training into classroom outcomes, the Director urged them to disseminate the knowledge and teaching practices acquired during the programme among fellow teachers so that a larger number of students could benefit. He also assured educators that issues affecting schools would be addressed progressively.
Principal, DIET Kargil, Khurshida Banoo, thanked the Director for his continued support to the institution and appreciated the active participation of the master trainers throughout the programme. She also acknowledged the contribution of the 17000 ft. Foundation in facilitating the training.
The three-day programme focused on enhancing the professional capacity of teachers to implement the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy framework more effectively, with the objective of strengthening early-grade learning across government schools in the district.
