LEH: Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the BJP-led Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Advocate Tashi Gyalson, attended the 16th birthday celebration of His Holiness the 8th Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche at Shey on Wednesday, joining religious leaders, public representatives and devotees in the commemorative event.
The celebration was attended by venerable Geshes and monks, while the Vice President of the Ladakh Gonpa Association participated as the Chief Guest. Among those present were the President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association Women’s Wing, the President of the BJP Ladakh Mahila Morcha, the President of the Ladakh Buddhist Association Youth Wing, former councillors, family members, relatives and a large gathering of devotees.
The programme featured cultural performances showcasing the region’s rich artistic traditions, including a special presentation by State Awardee Dorjey Stakmo.
As part of the religious observance, devotees offered the Mandal Tensum to His Holiness and prayed for his long life and well-being.
The celebration concluded with a spiritual discourse by His Holiness the 8th Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche, who shared words of wisdom with the gathering.
