Led by Deputy Commissioner Drass Imteeaz Kacho, the rally began from the D’Meadows Hotel side and culminated at the Tourist Dak Bungalow. Participants carried the Tricolour, raised patriotic slogans and conveyed messages of national unity, peace and harmony.

Superintendent of Police Ishtyaq Kacho, Principal GDC-Drass MNM Shabani, senior officials, faculty members and students of GDC-Drass, Government Higher Secondary School Drass and other educational institutions participated in the rally. Local youth, members of the medical fraternity and representatives of Darul Tabliq, led by President Sheikh Hussain Baramo, were also present.

Addressing the participants, the Deputy Commissioner said the Tricolour represents India’s freedom, unity, courage, peace and national pride. Recalling the sacrifices of freedom fighters and soldiers, he urged young people to understand the responsibilities that come with freedom and contribute positively to society.

Kacho particularly urged the youth to stay away from drugs and other harmful habits, describing them as a challenge to the progress of the newly created district. He called upon youngsters to become agents of positive change and uphold discipline, responsibility and respect for the nation.

The Deputy Commissioner also appealed to residents to participate in the Independence Day celebrations on August 15 with similar enthusiasm.

Principal GDC-Drass MNM Shabani appreciated the participation and highlighted aspects of nationalism and India’s freedom struggle.

The rally concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to patriotism, unity and responsible citizenship.
