Greater Choice Creates Greater Value, says MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee
SRINAGAR: J&K Bank has entered into a Corporate Agency Agreement with HDFC Life to widen insurance choices for its customers, adding the insurer to its existing panel of insurance partners and strengthening the bank’s multi-partner bancassurance model.
The partnership will provide J&K Bank customers access to HDFC Life’s insurance products covering protection, savings and investment, and retirement planning, among other life-stage requirements.
J&K Bank MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said the addition of HDFC Life would widen the range of insurance solutions available to customers and enable them to make financial choices based on their individual requirements.
“Greater choice creates greater value,” Chatterjee said, adding that the bank’s approach of bringing multiple reputed insurers onto its platform was intended to offer customers greater product diversity, competitive pricing and flexibility.
The partnership is also expected to expand insurance access through J&K Bank’s distribution network across the country, supporting wider insurance penetration and contributing to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India’s vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’.
HDFC Life MD & CEO Vibha Padalkar said life insurance remained an important component of long-term financial resilience and expressed confidence that the partnership would help customers access individual and group insurance plans supported by technology-enabled services.
With HDFC Life joining its existing insurance partners, J&K Bank said its multi-insurer model would allow customers to compare and select products based on their needs rather than being restricted to a single insurer’s offerings.
The partnership was announced in the presence of senior executives from both organisations, including HDFC Life Executive Director and Chief Business Officer Vineet Arora, Chief Operating Officer Sameer Yogishwar, Chief Bancassurance Officer Lavneesh Gupta, Group Head–Strategic and Key Alliances Anita Peshkar, SVP Bancassurance Subrata Biswas and VP Strategic Alliances Rohit Khatri.
J&K Bank Executive Director Sudhir Gupta and senior bank officials, including Chief General Managers Sunit Kumar, Imtiyaz Ahmad and Rajesh Malla Tikoo, and General Manager Anita Nehru, were also present.
