JNV Leh Students complete National Integration Tour to Jispa, Dehradun under Op-Sadbhavana

LEH: Students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Leh, returned from a nine-day National Integration Tour that took them from Ladakh to Jispa and Dehradun, giving them an opportunity to experience India’s cultural diversity, heritage and military traditions beyond their home region.

The tour was facilitated by Dhanurdhari Gunners under the aegis of the Fire and Fury Corps as part of Operation Sadbhavana, with students visiting the Atal Tunnel, Forest Research Institute (FRI) and Indian Military Academy (IMA) in Dehradun.

A major part of the programme was interaction with Gentlemen Cadets at IMA, providing the students an opportunity to learn about military life, training and service to the nation.

The students also interacted with Lieutenant General Nagendra Singh, Commandant, IMA, and Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Retd), Governor of Uttarakhand, during their visit.

The interactions and visits were aimed at exposing the students to different aspects of India’s social and cultural landscape while strengthening their understanding of national integration and the country’s military traditions.

In a separate statement shared by the Fire and Fury Corps on X, Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh said that India’s unity is strengthened when young people experience regions beyond their own.

The Governor, who interacted with the visiting students at Lok Bhavan, said the tour offered them an opportunity to experience India’s cultural diversity, heritage and development firsthand.

He also encouraged the students to carry their experiences back to Ladakh and act as ambassadors of national unity and harmony within their communities.

The tour was organised by 129 SATA Regiment of the Dhanurdhari Artillery Brigade under the aegis of the Fire and Fury Corps.

For the students, the programme provided exposure to places and institutions outside Ladakh, along with opportunities to form new friendships and gain a broader understanding of the country’s diversity.

The Army said such tours under Operation Sadbhavana seek to provide young people with wider exposure and strengthen their connection with the larger national community. The students returned to Leh with experiences from their visits and interactions, along with a deeper appreciation of India’s diversity, national integration and the idea of service to the nation.
