LEH: Kushok Bakula Rinpoche (KBR) Airport, Leh is strengthening passenger convenience and safety through a range of service-oriented measures under Yatri Suvidha Diwas, with particular emphasis on clear information dissemination and a smooth baggage journey.
Today, the airport focused on ensuring a safe and seamless baggage journey for passengers. Measures highlighted by the airport included the availability of baggage trolleys, maintaining an uncluttered baggage area and ensuring responsive Lost & Found services. Passengers were also sensitised about proper baggage handling and items prohibited during air travel.
The initiative followed passenger-facilitation measures highlighted by KBR Airport on September 22, when the airport focused on improving the flow of information and reducing inconvenience during the travel process. These included clear signage, updated Flight Information Display Systems (FIDS), timely passenger information and accurate boarding announcements.
Pertinently, the airport has been conducting activities focused on passenger facilitation, comfort, engagement and cultural presentation under the ongoing Yatri Seva Abhiyan 2026, which runs from September 17 to October 10. The campaign places emphasis on cleanliness, accessibility, safety, quality service and assistance to passengers.
The activities reflect the airport’s focus on providing passengers with accurate information at key stages of their journey while ensuring that baggage handling and related assistance remain orderly and accessible.
Through these measures, KBR Airport is seeking to enhance the overall passenger experience by combining information clarity, operational preparedness, baggage assistance and passenger awareness as key elements of Yatri Suvidha Diwas.
