Ladakh Scouts reach remote Puga Valley to inspire Youth for Army Forces careers

Promotes Digital Learning at Govt Residential School, Satho

NYOMA: The Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre carried its recruitment outreach to the remote Puga Valley in Changthang on July 22, encouraging local youth to pursue careers in the Armed Forces ahead of the Ladakh Scouts Recruitment Rally beginning on August 11.

The programme focused on creating awareness about recruitment opportunities in the regiment and guiding aspiring candidates on the eligibility criteria and selection process. Army personnel interacted with young residents, urging eligible candidates to prepare for the forthcoming recruitment rally and consider military service as a career.

The outreach sought to reach aspiring candidates in one of Ladakh’s remote regions, ensuring that information on recruitment and career prospects in the Armed Forces reaches youth living in far-flung border areas.

During the interaction, participants were briefed on the recruitment process and the preparations required to participate in the rally. The session also provided an opportunity for the youth to engage directly with Army personnel and seek clarification on various aspects of enlistment.

Officials said the initiative was aimed at motivating young people to explore opportunities in the Armed Forces while strengthening awareness of careers in military service.

The Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre said such outreach programmes form part of its sustained engagement with border communities, fostering closer interaction with local youth while reinforcing the longstanding relationship between the Indian Army and the people of Changthang.

The Ladakh Scouts Recruitment Rally is scheduled to commence on August 11, offering eligible youth from the region an opportunity to join one of the Army’s most distinguished infantry regiments with deep roots in Ladakh.

In a parallel initiative, the Indian Army conducted Basic Computer and Skill Development Classes for students of Satho Government Residential School, introducing them to fundamental computer applications and practical digital skills.

The programme was designed to strengthen digital literacy, enhance confidence and equip students with essential technological knowledge to support their educational and career aspirations. The sessions focused on developing practical competencies while encouraging young learners to embrace technology and pursue future opportunities with confidence.

According to the organisers, the twin initiatives reflect sustained efforts to promote education, skill development and career awareness among youth in Ladakh’s remote areas. Besides creating awareness about opportunities in the Armed Forces, the programmes sought to foster self-reliance through improved access to digital learning.

The Army said such outreach initiatives contribute to the holistic development of border communities while reinforcing its longstanding relationship with the people of Ladakh through sustained engagement in education, youth development and community welfare.
