LG meets Ladakhi youth undergoing skill training in Delhi, stresses employability and self-reliance

LEH: Extending encouragement to the aspirations of Ladakh’s young generation, Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh Vinai Kumar Saxena today interacted with 36 talented youth from the Union Territory who are undergoing skill development training at the GMR Varalakshmi Centre for Empowerment & Livelihoods, New Delhi.

During the interaction, the Lieutenant Governor enquired about the well-being and experiences of the trainees and appreciated their enthusiasm, commitment and willingness to acquire new skills. He expressed confidence that the specialised training programme would help equip them with industry-relevant capabilities, enhance their career prospects and open avenues for gainful employment.

The LG highlighted the importance of empowering Ladakh’s youth with knowledge, technical expertise and practical skills to enable them to compete successfully in a rapidly changing job market. He emphasised that a skilled and confident workforce is essential for building a progressive, self-reliant and economically vibrant Ladakh.

The trainees shared their positive experiences and expressed happiness over the opportunity to undergo professional training outside the Union Territory. They conveyed that the programme was helping them gain valuable exposure, improve their skill sets and prepare for future employment opportunities.

Encouraging the youth, Saxena extended his best wishes for their future endeavours and reiterated that the energy, talent and determination of Ladakh’s young population would play a crucial role in shaping the region’s development journey.

“A skilled, confident and self-reliant youth will form the strongest foundation for a prosperous Ladakh,” the Lieutenant Governor said while motivating the trainees to continue learning and striving for excellence.

The initiative reflects the administration’s continued focus on youth empowerment, capacity building and creation of sustainable livelihood opportunities by connecting Ladakh’s young talent with quality training programmes and wider employment avenues. By promoting skill development, the UT administration aims to nurture a generation of capable professionals who can contribute meaningfully to Ladakh’s socio-economic growth.
