LG Saxena hosts ‘At Home’ reception to mark 80th I-Day at Lok Niwas Leh

LEH: Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Saturday hosted the customary ‘At Home’ reception at Lok Niwas, Leh, to mark the 80th Independence Day, bringing together a diverse cross-section of Ladakh’s social, political, religious, administrative and professional life.

The reception brought together representatives of religious, political and social institutions, prominent citizens, UT State Award winners, entrepreneurs, sportspersons, academicians, senior civil and police officers, besides personnel of the Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces.

The traditional reception provided an opportunity for people from different sections of society to come together on Independence Day and reaffirm the values of unity, inclusiveness and shared responsibility.

Saxena interacted with the guests and extended his greetings on Independence Day, acknowledging their contributions to public service, community welfare, nation building and the development of Ladakh.

The gathering reflected the broad range of institutions and communities contributing to public life in the Union Territory, with award winners, professionals, public representatives, entrepreneurs, academics and security personnel joining the celebrations.

The ‘At Home’ reception is a longstanding Independence Day tradition intended to bring together people from different walks of life and provide an occasion for interaction between the administration and the wider community.

The event at Lok Niwas formed part of the Independence Day celebrations in Ladakh.
