LEH: Lt Gen Madanraj Pande, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Fire and Fury Corps, visited Army installations at Padum in Zanskar and reviewed operational preparedness and upcoming critical military infrastructure in the strategically significant valley.
During his visit, the GOC took stock of key infrastructure projects, including the N-P-D Axis, with emphasis on strengthening the Army’s operational capabilities, mobility and sustainability in the challenging high-altitude terrain of Ladakh.
The review assumes significance given the difficult terrain and harsh climatic conditions of Zanskar, where robust infrastructure is essential for maintaining sustained operational preparedness and supporting troops deployed in forward and strategically important areas.
Lt Gen Pande also interacted with troops deployed in the region and commended them for their professionalism, operational commitment and steadfast devotion to duty. He appreciated their dedication while serving under demanding high-altitude conditions.
The visit underscored the Army’s continued focus on strengthening infrastructure and enhancing operational preparedness in Zanskar, an area of strategic importance in eastern Ladakh.
