Month-long intensive CBSE training begins across Ladakh cluster schools

Targeted intervention for Classes X and XII focuses on learning gaps, assessment strategies and Board exam preparedness

LEH: A month-long intensive academic support programme for students of Classes X and XII and teachers in government schools across the Union Territory of Ladakh commenced on Monday, with sessions being conducted at cluster schools in 10 locations.

The programme, being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in coordination with the Directorate of School Education, Ladakh, aims to strengthen students’ conceptual understanding, address identified learning gaps and improve their preparedness for the forthcoming CBSE Board examinations.

The in-person academic support programme is being held at Leh, Nubra A, Nubra B, Sham, Zanskar, Kargil, Drass, Changthang, Sankoo and Chiktan.

For Class X, the programme covers Mathematics and Science, while Class XII students are being supported in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics. The sessions are designed to provide subject-wise academic preparation along with guidance on competency-based assessment, examination techniques, time management and effective approaches to Board examinations.

According to the Directorate of School Education, special attention is being given to areas of Mathematics, Science and Economics where students have shown relatively weaker performance, as identified through Pre-Board and previous CBSE Board Examination results.

Experienced teachers and resource persons from CBSE-affiliated schools across the country have been nominated to conduct the sessions. Their involvement is intended to provide students with focused academic support and exposure to effective strategies for tackling competency-based questions and other examination requirements.

The intervention is also aimed at helping students develop stronger problem-solving skills and greater confidence in dealing with the Board examination pattern.

The Directorate said the targeted academic support is expected to help bridge learning gaps and enhance the overall subject understanding, confidence and examination preparedness of students ahead of the forthcoming CBSE Board examinations.

The initiative comes as part of efforts to provide more focused academic intervention in government schools and improve learning outcomes in subjects where performance gaps have been identified.
