LEH: A nutrition awareness campaign was organised at the Thiksay Moosa Anganwadi Centre (AWC) on Tuesday, with Anganwadi Workers from the Shay-Thiksay zone participating in an outreach programme focused on dietary diversity, protein-rich food and maternal and child nutrition.
The campaign sought to raise awareness among community members about the importance of incorporating protein-rich foods and locally available food resources into daily diets, while promoting greater dietary diversity.
The programme also focused on the nutritional needs of children and mothers, highlighting the role of adequate and balanced nutrition in supporting healthy growth and overall community well-being.
Anganwadi Workers from across the Shay-Thiksay zone took part in the campaign, which was aimed at extending nutrition awareness beyond the Anganwadi Centre and into the wider community.
The initiative stressed the need to make effective use of locally available food resources while ensuring that daily diets provide a balanced range of nutrients.
