NYOMA: An awareness programme focusing on the ill-effects of drug abuse was organised at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Hostel, Nyoma, on Wednesday, bringing together students, educators and members of the Block Level Drug Abuse Committee to promote awareness and prevention among youth.
The programme witnessed the active participation of hostel students and was conducted in the presence of members of the Block Level Drug Abuse Committee, the Hostel Warden and all resident students.
During the interactive session, resource persons sensitised students about the dangers associated with substance abuse, highlighting its adverse effects on physical and mental health, academic performance and overall well-being.

They also encouraged students to become active contributors in fostering a drug-free environment within their communities.
The session further underscored the role of awareness, peer support and community participation in preventing drug abuse among adolescents and young adults. Participants were urged to spread awareness among their peers and support initiatives aimed at safeguarding youth from substance dependence.
