KARGIL: The Fisheries Department, Kargil, has urged unemployed and educated youth to explore self-employment opportunities in fisheries and allied activities under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), offering eligible beneficiaries financial assistance and institutional support to establish fisheries-related enterprises.
The Assistant Director Fisheries, Kargil, Mohd Amin Lone said eligible applicants can approach the Fisheries Department for guidance and submission of applications under the scheme.
The initiative is aimed at encouraging educated youth to consider fisheries and allied activities as avenues for self-employment and income generation, while enabling beneficiaries to access financial assistance available under PMMSY.
Interested applicants have been advised to approach the Fisheries Department, Kargil, where officials will provide guidance on the application process and eligibility requirements.
Applicants are required to submit Aadhaar Card, land or lease documents, a feasibility report issued by the Fisheries Department, a copy of their bank account and an affidavit along with their applications.
The department has appealed to unemployed educated youth to make use of the scheme and explore opportunities in fisheries-related entrepreneurship.
The Assistant Director Fisheries also encouraged prospective beneficiaries to seek departmental guidance before submitting applications to understand the requirements and feasibility of the proposed activities.
The department said interested applicants can contact the Fisheries Department, Kargil, for further information and assistance regarding the scheme and application process.
