Police bids farewell to SI Skarma Angchuk after 41 Years of Service

KHALTSE: The District Police Sham on Friday accorded a ceremonial farewell to Sub-Inspector Skarma Angchuk, who retired from service after completing 41 years in the Ladakh Police, marking the end of a career spanning more than four decades in law enforcement and public service.

The retirement function was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) District Sham, Malik Aijaz (JKPS), police personnel of all ranks and a large gathering of residents from across the district, who assembled to honour the officer’s long association with the force.

During his service, SI Skarma Angchuk discharged a wide range of policing responsibilities and was recognised within the department for his professionalism, discipline and commitment to maintaining law and order. He served in challenging geographical conditions across the region and was entrusted with handling policing duties in diverse operational environments.

According to the Police Department, the retiring officer earned the respect of colleagues and senior officers alike through his integrity, dedication to duty and measured approach in addressing law-and-order situations. His service was also acknowledged as an example for younger personnel joining the force.

Speaking on the occasion, SSP Malik Aijaz, along with officers and personnel of District Police Sham, expressed appreciation for SI Angchuk’s contribution to the department and thanked him for his years of committed public service.

The department extended its best wishes to the retiring officer for a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling post-retirement life.
