Leh: Police recovered approximately 10 grams of heroin during a raid at a residence in Skelzangling, leading to the registration of a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The seizure was made as part of the district police’s ongoing campaign to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse in Ladakh. According to report, the operation was carried out after police received reliable and specific information through a credible source regarding the alleged possession of narcotic substances.
Acting promptly on the input, a team from Police Station Leh conducted a search of the residence at Skelzangling. During the search, police recovered approximately 10 grams of heroin, which was seized in accordance with the legal procedures prescribed under the NDPS Act.
Following the recovery, Police Station Leh registered FIR No. 148/2026 under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act against the accused. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed by the police.
