SDM Khaltsi reviews Census Progress, commends Teams for timely House Listing completion

KHALTSI: The House Listing Operation (HLO) under the Khaltsi Census Charge has been completed within the stipulated timeline, with the administration now shifting its focus to the preparation and submission of final census maps, officials said on Tuesday.

The progress was reviewed at a meeting chaired by Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Khaltsi, Mohd Sharif, who also serves as the Sub-Divisional Officer and Charge Officer for the Khaltsi Census Charge. Held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Sham, the meeting brought together officials associated with the census exercise to assess the status of post-enumeration work and streamline the remaining formalities.

Addressing the participants, the SDM expressed appreciation for the coordinated efforts of officers, field functionaries, trainers and the Census Cell, headed by the Deputy Charge Officer, in ensuring the timely completion of the House Listing Operation across the sub-division. He described the adherence to timelines as crucial for the smooth progression of the census process.

The deliberations primarily centred on the completion and verification of the census maps, a mandatory component of the exercise before their submission to the District Census Officer (DCO). Officials reviewed procedural requirements and discussed measures to ensure the accuracy and timely completion of the mapping exercise.

According to officials, the census operation in Khaltsi Charge was carried out by a workforce comprising eight supervisors and 36 enumerators. To facilitate systematic field operations and effective coverage, villages under the charge were divided into 36 enumeration blocks.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Charge Officer, field trainers, supervisors, enumerators and other officials associated with the census exercise, who reviewed the progress of documentation and discussed the remaining tasks required for the successful completion of the ongoing census process.
