LEH: The School Education Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has directed all teaching and non-teaching staff to undertake self-enumeration for the upcoming Population Census 2027, along with their family members, during the designated period from August 25 to August 31, 2026.
The directive was issued by the School Education Department, referring to instructions received from the office of the Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development and Monitoring Department (PD&MD), UT Ladakh.
Under the directions, awareness regarding the self-enumeration facility under Census 2027 is to be disseminated among all officers, officials, teaching and non-teaching staff and faculty members of the School Education Department. The department has advised employees to complete the self-enumeration process for themselves and their family members within the stipulated seven-day window.
The department has also placed responsibility on Heads of Institutions to ensure compliance. All Heads of Institutions have been asked to ensure that every member of staff under their administrative control completes self-enumeration within the prescribed timeline.
The move is aimed at ensuring wider participation of government employees and their families in the digital self-enumeration exercise being undertaken as part of the preparations for Census 2027.
