LEH: Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Leh, has urged eligible youth across Ladakh to participate in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue (VBYLD) 2027, with the ongoing Viksit Bharat Quiz providing the entry point to a five-stage process culminating in the national-level dialogue.
The appeal was made during a press conference held here on Wednesday by Deputy Director, MY Bharat Leh, Jigmat Speldon, who called upon students, educational institutions, youth organisations and other stakeholders to ensure wider participation from Ladakh.
The Viksit Bharat Challenge, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, is open to youth aged 15 to 29 years as on August 17, 2026. The online Viksit Bharat Quiz is being conducted from August 17 to September 30 through the MY Bharat platform.
The quiz will be followed by a virtual Essay Competition and District Championships, where shortlisted participants will present their ideas through PowerPoint presentations. Successful candidates will advance to the State/UT-level VBYLD before selected young leaders participate in the National-Level VBYLD.
For the Himalayan Frontier Region, comprising Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the thematic area for the essay and presentation stages is “Climate Security, Borders & Sustainable Mountain Development.”
The theme is particularly relevant to Ladakh, where development is closely linked to its fragile mountain environment, border geography and climatic conditions. It provides young participants an opportunity to develop practical ideas on challenges facing Himalayan communities and border regions.
VBYLD-2027 also provides other avenues for youth participation through the Cultural Track, Youth Parliament and Innovate for Bharat, allowing participants to engage through cultural expression, public policy, leadership and innovation.
MY Bharat Leh said the initiative is intended to provide young citizens with a platform to contribute ideas and innovative solutions towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The organisation urged schools, colleges, universities, youth organisations and other institutions in Ladakh to actively facilitate participation and ensure that young voices from the region reach the national platform.
The initiative seeks to move youth participation beyond conventional beneficiaries of government programmes by encouraging young citizens to contribute directly to discussions on development, governance, innovation and nation-building.
With the Viksit Bharat Quiz deadline approaching on September 30, MY Bharat Leh has called on eligible youth to register and participate at the earliest.
