ZANSKAR: The two-day Ladakh Zanskar Festival concluded at Sani on Wednesday with cultural performances, musical programmes and the felicitation of local artists and contributors, bringing together officials, cultural practitioners, stakeholders and residents.
The concluding programme featured a series of cultural performances, followed by energetic presentations by local bands, singers and artists. The performances showcased Zanskar’s musical traditions and the creative talent of the region.
Singers, artists, cultural performers, stakeholders and others associated with the festival were felicitated for their participation and contribution to the event. The recognition was aimed at acknowledging efforts towards promoting and preserving Zanskar’s cultural heritage, traditional practices, music and artistic traditions.
Secretary Tourism Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Zanskar Omkar Rajendra Gundage, SP Zanskar, Executive Councillor Phunchok Tashi and senior officers were among those present at the concluding function, along with local stakeholders and members of the public.
The festival provided a platform for local artists and cultural groups to showcase Zanskar’s traditions while encouraging wider community participation.
It also highlighted Zanskar’s potential for cultural, adventure and sustainable tourism by placing its distinctive cultural identity and local artistic traditions at the centre of the two-day programme.
