LEH: To strengthen discipline, professionalism and operational preparedness within the force, Director General of Police (DGP) Ladakh Anand Jain, IPS, has directed that ceremonial parades be conducted every Monday at all District Police Lines and the 25th Battalion of the Indian Reserve Police (IRP), with supervisory officers personally overseeing the exercise.

The directive was issued after the DGP inspected a ceremonial parade at IRP 25th Battalion, where personnel from Police Headquarters, Ladakh, and the battalion participated. During the inspection, the DGP closely examined the turnout, drill, discipline, coordination and overall readiness of the police personnel.

Addressing the participants, DGP Anand Jain underscored the importance of ceremonial parades as a cornerstone of police discipline and professionalism. He said such parades provide an effective platform to assess uniform standards, physical fitness and appearance, alertness, drill proficiency and responsiveness, while also reinforcing discipline and enhancing coordination, command and control within the force.

In a key administrative decision, the DGP instructed that ceremonial parades be held every Monday without exception at all District Police Lines and the IRP 25th Battalion. He directed supervisory officers to personally monitor the conduct of these parades, ensure the participation of all personnel and maintain prescribed standards.

Reiterating the objective behind the initiative, the DGP said the weekly Monday Parade would promote discipline, punctuality and professionalism among police personnel while improving manpower management, supervision and the overall operational readiness of the Ladakh Police.

The move is expected to institutionalise a culture of accountability and preparedness across the force, ensuring that personnel remain physically fit, professionally disciplined and operationally ready to effectively meet policing and public safety responsibilities across the Union Territory.
