LEH: Tsering Namgial was elected President of the Student Council of Eliezer Joldan Memorial (EJM) College after the counting of votes for the 2026 student election was completed on Wednesday.
Tsewang Dorjey was elected General Secretary, while Stanzin Nurboo was elected Treasurer, according to the results announced by the college Election Commission.
The results were declared after completion of the counting process conducted under the supervision of the Election Commission.
The newly elected office-bearers will now take charge of the Student Council and represent the interests and concerns of the student community.
The Election Commission said the election and counting process was conducted in a fair and transparent manner. It congratulated the elected candidates and thanked students, candidates, teachers and staff for their participation and cooperation throughout the election process.
The declaration of results brings the 2026 Student Council election process to a close, with the newly elected representatives set to assume their responsibilities at the college.
The election process was facilitated by Padma Gyaltson, Thupstan Tsewang Wangdan, Sonam Yangdol and Pema Thinlay.
