BJP submits memorandum to ADDC Kargil on Civic infrastructure in Chanchik, Goma

KARGIL: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by Mandal President for Kargil Town, Ahsan Ali Alikoo, on Tuesday met Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ghulam Mohammad and submitted a memorandum seeking early resolution of civic issues affecting the Chanchik and Goma areas of Kargil.

Accompanied by BJP Mandal Vice President and President of the Chanchik Area Committee, Mumtaz Max, Alikoo urged the district administration to improve basic civic infrastructure, including the installation of mist lights at graveyards in Chanchik and Goma.

The delegation said inadequate lighting at the graveyards creates inconvenience during evening visits, funeral processions and other religious gatherings, and sought early installation of illumination facilities to improve accessibility and public safety.

The memorandum also called for the installation of street lights in uncovered stretches of Chanchik, stating that poor lighting poses difficulties for pedestrians and motorists while raising safety and security concerns during night hours.

The BJP leaders further highlighted issues relating to the functioning of the Municipal Committee Kargil, including sanitation, maintenance of public infrastructure, civic amenities and the disposal of pending public grievances. They urged the administration to address these issues on priority in the interest of local residents.

ADDC Ghulam Mohammad gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured them that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned departments for appropriate action.
