LEH: Administrative Secretary, School Education Department, UT Ladakh, Bhanu Prabha (IAS) was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on the occasion of his 91st birthday in recognition of her contribution to strengthening government school education in the Union Territory.
The honour, conferred by the Ladakh Buddhist Association, recognises her leadership in implementing reforms aimed at improving the quality of education, learning environments and community participation in government schools across Ladakh.
According to the citation, the School Education Department, under Bhanu Prabha’s leadership, adopted a participatory approach by involving village communities, parents and local stakeholders in the development and revitalisation of government schools. The initiatives have contributed to improving public confidence in the government education system and encouraging greater enrolment in government institutions.
The citation also acknowledged her administrative leadership and commitment to promoting inclusive education and the welfare of children, noting that the initiatives reflected the values of compassion, service and community welfare associated with the teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The Certificate of Appreciation was presented as a mark of gratitude from the people of Ladakh for her contribution to the education sector. The occasion also recognised the reforms undertaken by the School Education Department to improve academic standards and strengthen government schools across the Union Territory.
The School Education Department expressed gratitude to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the Ladakh Buddhist Association for the recognition and reiterated its commitment to advancing quality, inclusive and equitable education for children across Ladakh.
