DC directs expedited resolution of pending Army Land issues in Kargil

KARGIL: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), on Saturday directed officials to expedite the disposal of pending Army land and revenue cases in the district, stressing the need for coordinated action among the civil administration, Army authorities and the Revenue Department to ensure their early resolution.

The directions were issued during a review meeting convened with the Defence Estate Officer (DEO), Leh, to assess the status of long-pending land-related matters involving Kargil district. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kargil.

Officials reviewed agenda items submitted by the Defence Estate Officer relating to land classification, revenue records, mutation cases, joint surveys, defence land, road construction and other pending issues. The meeting examined the progress of individual cases and discussed measures to accelerate their disposal through coordinated administrative action.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed all concerned officers to ensure the timely submission of revenue records, verification reports and other requisite documents, observing that close coordination among the Revenue Department, Army authorities and the district administration was essential for resolving the pending matters.

With regard to the pending joint survey of land at Pratabganj and Baroo, Rakesh Kumar directed the concerned Tehsildars to constitute a dedicated Revenue Department team to undertake the survey in coordination with Army authorities. He instructed that the exercise be completed at the earliest to facilitate the resolution of the issue without further delay.

The meeting also reviewed matters concerning land classification, revision petitions under the Land Revenue Act, defence land at Prantry, road construction over private land at Nirl Kaksar and other revenue-related cases. The concerned Tehsildars were directed to accord priority to the pending matters and submit progress reports within the prescribed timeframe.
