DRASS: Deputy Commissioner Drass Imteeaz Kacho (JKAS) on Thursday visited Army Goodwill School, Drass, and reviewed its infrastructure, academic activities and facilities while interacting with students and teaching staff.
During the visit, school authorities briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the functioning of the institution, its existing infrastructure, academic programmes and facilities available to students.
Kacho inspected various sections of the school, including classrooms, the music room, MI room and laboratory, and interacted with students during classroom visits.
Addressing the students, he encouraged them to remain focused on their studies and work towards becoming responsible citizens. He also highlighted the range of career opportunities available in Ladakh across different fields and urged students to make full use of the opportunities before them.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Army and the school administration in providing educational opportunities and essential facilities to children from the local area.
He also praised the dedication of teachers and stressed their role in motivating, mentoring and guiding students towards their future goals.
Kacho encouraged the students to set higher academic targets and make effective use of the educational facilities available at the school.
He also highlighted the value of inter-school competitions in Drass, saying such platforms allow students to interact with their peers, learn from one another, develop confidence and showcase their abilities.
According to the school authorities, the institution currently has an enrolment of 287 students and is prepared to accommodate additional children despite constraints related to available space.
The requirement for additional space and other needs of the school were also discussed during the Deputy Commissioner’s visit.
