DC Nubra reviews Auditorium, Hostel and Academic Block construction at GDC Nubra, stresses timely completion

NUBRA: Deputy Commissioner Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects at Government Degree College (GDC) Nubra and directed executing agencies to expedite the remaining works to ensure their completion before the commencement of the upcoming academic session.

During an inspection of the college campus, the Deputy Commissioner assessed the status of new academic blocks, the college auditorium and hostel facilities, all of which are being developed to strengthen educational infrastructure and improve student amenities in the region.

Emphasising the need for timely execution, Beniwal instructed the concerned agencies to prioritise pending works and adhere to prescribed deadlines so that students can benefit from the upgraded facilities at the earliest.

He also stressed that all essential services, including water supply, electricity and plumbing infrastructure, must be made fully operational within the stipulated timeframe to ensure the smooth functioning of the institution.

The Deputy Commissioner observed that the availability of modern academic and residential facilities would enhance the learning environment and encourage more students to seek admission to the college.

Reviewing the pace of work, he called for close monitoring of the projects and directed officials to ensure that quality standards are maintained while accelerating execution.

The inspection formed part of the district administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen higher education infrastructure and create improved academic opportunities for students in Nubra.

The visit was accompanied by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nubra, Jigmet Raftan, JKAS; Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Lobzang Yontan; and other concerned officials, who briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the status of the ongoing works and the timeline for their completion.
