Director Accounts Kaneez Fatima chairs review of LIFMS integration with PFMS

LEH: The Finance Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh on Friday reviewed the integration of the Ladakh Integrated Financial Management System (LIFMS) with the Public Financial Management System (PFMS), a move aimed at enabling real-time tracking of government expenditure and advancing paperless budgeting across the Union Territory.

The review was held during a virtual meeting chaired by Director, Accounts and Treasuries, Kaneez Fatima, with the Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), focusing on the operationalisation of the integrated platform and the roadmap for making the system fully functional.

The proposed integration will facilitate more efficient expenditure monitoring, streamline financial processes and reduce dependence on manual documentation, aligning Ladakh’s financial administration with digital governance initiatives being implemented across the country.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Finance, National Informatics Centre (NIC) and the Finance Department of Ladakh participated in the deliberations.

Among those present were Punchok Paldan, Senior Director and ASIO, NIC Ladakh; Assistant Controller of Accounts, MHA; Senior Accounts Officers from the GIFMIS-PFMS Division, Ministry of Finance; Joint Director (Finance) Jigmet Namgyal; Treasury Officers and Pay and Accounts Officers from Leh and Kargil, along with officials from NIC Jammu and the LIFMS Section.
