Hundreds join BJP in Kharbu as Door-to-Door campaign concludes in Drass

DRASS: Hundreds of people joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kharbu village as the party’s door-to-door public outreach campaign in Drass district concluded on Sunday, with the BJP projecting the development as its first major grassroots expansion in the area since it was granted district status.

The campaign was conducted under the leadership of BJP Drass District President Fayaz Ahmad Qari, during which party workers reached out to residents in different areas of the district.

The BJP said a large number of people joined the party in Kharbu, while the Zaldar family also joined its ranks under the leadership of Tariq Ahmad.

The conclusion of the campaign was marked by a Tiranga Yatra, in which BJP workers and local residents participated carrying the national flag. The party said the march conveyed a message of patriotism and national unity.

The BJP described the Kharbu joining as the first major instance of a large number of people joining the party in Drass since the area was granted district status. It said the response indicated growing support for the party at the grassroots level.

The statement, issued by the BJP Drass District unit, did not specify the exact number of people who joined the party.
