LEH: The National Institute of Sowa Rigpa (NISR), Leh, concluded its Hindi Pakhwada with a formal ceremony aimed at encouraging the use of Hindi in official communication and promoting greater interest in the language and literature among its staff and students.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Dr Thinles Dorje Dampatsong, Member, Hindi Advisory Committee, Ministry of Ayush, as Chief Guest, along with Dr Padma Gurmet, Director, NISR, faculty members, officers, staff and students.
The programme also recognised the participation of staff and students in various competitions organised during the fortnight-long Hindi Pakhwada. The competitions provided participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity, language skills and interest in Hindi.
Cash prizes were distributed to the winners and position holders of the various competitions. Other participants were also appreciated for their active involvement and enthusiasm throughout the programme.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries stressed the importance of promoting Hindi in official communication and creating an institutional environment that encourages its wider use.
They also highlighted the role of language-related activities in encouraging linguistic creativity and participation and in developing greater appreciation for Hindi among staff and students.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, with the organisers expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, Director, faculty members, staff, students and others involved in conducting the Hindi Pakhwada.
The NISR, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Ayush, organised the programme as part of its efforts to encourage the use of Hindi in official work and institutional activities.
