Several residents of Sheynam join Congress party in Leh

LEH: The Congress Party on Thursday expanded its organisational base in Ladakh with several residents of Sheynam formally joining the party in the presence of senior functionaries of the Ladakh Territorial Congress Committee (LTCC) and District Congress Committee (DCC) Leh.

The induction programme was attended by LTCC Women President Stanzin Dolker, DCC Leh Vice President Tashi Chosphel and DCC Women President Advocate Deachen Angmo, who welcomed the new entrants into the party fold.

Those who joined the Congress included Rigzin Dorjey Khalingpa, Baqir Ali Ghiounpa, Salim Iqbal Bardi, Haji Issa Ali Mitsig Chulung and Razia Bano Bardi.

Addressing the gathering, party leaders said the induction reflected growing public engagement with the Congress and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to addressing the concerns and aspirations of the people of Ladakh.

They highlighted the party’s stated focus on safeguarding public interests, strengthening democratic institutions and advocating policies aimed at the welfare and development of the region. The leaders also emphasised the importance of active public participation in democratic processes and community development.

Welcoming the new members, the party functionaries expressed confidence that their participation would contribute to strengthening the organisation at the grassroots level and enhancing outreach among local communities.

The newly inducted members were encouraged to play an active role in public service and engage constructively with issues concerning development, governance and the welfare of the people.

The programme concluded with party leaders reiterating their commitment to expanding the organisation’s presence across Ladakh and working towards inclusive development through sustained public engagement.
