LEH: The MSME Development & Nucleus Cell (MSME-DNC), Leh, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, organised an awareness programme on Branding & Marketing for PM Vishwakarma Scheme Beneficiaries at Conference Hall, LAHDC, Leh here today.

The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness among PM Vishwakarma beneficiaries and traditional artisans about Branding and Marketing opportunities, various schemes of the Ministry of MSME, credit facilitation, digital payment solutions, QR Code Generation, Artificial Intelligence and the use of emerging technologies for strengthening their livelihoods and enterprises. The programme began with a welcome address and an overview of the programme delivered by Sh. Amit Kumar Tamaria, Joint Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu.

The Chief Guest, Sonam Nurboo, Director, Industries & Commerce Department, Ladakh, addressed the participants and highlighted the importance of supporting traditional artisans and promoting their products. Imtisaal Rasool, Under Secretary (Industries & Commerce), also addressed the gathering. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vinu Jee Koul, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu.

During the technical sessions, Aman Singh, Assistant Director, MSME-DFO, Jammu, delivered a presentation on PM Vishwakarma and various schemes of the Ministry of MSME. Mohd Zakiria, Functional Manager, DIC Leh, provided an overview of the Ladakh Industrial, Transport Policy and PMEGP Scheme.

A dedicated session on Branding & Marketing for Traditional Artisans was conducted by Dr. Diwakar Singh, Incharge, EDII Ladakh. The participants were also sensitised about India Post Payments Bank schemes and QR Code generation through a session conducted by Jagadeesh M, India Post Payments Bank. Nitish Mansotra, SBI, delivered a presentation on banking schemes and credit facilitation, covering avenues available to artisans for accessing institutional credit.

A session on Artificial Intelligence for Traditional Artisans was conducted by Rigzin Wangdus, Consultant, PM Vishwakarma SPMU Team, highlighting the relevance of emerging digital technologies for traditional artisans and their business activities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sh. Aruni K. Raja, Team Leader, PM Vishwakarma SPMU. Sh. Jigmat, Sh. Khushbu from PM Vishwakarma SPMU, participated in the event.

The awareness programme provided a platform for PM Vishwakarma Scheme beneficiaries and traditional artisans to gain insights into branding and marketing, Government schemes, industrial policy, financial and Credit facilities, Digital payment mechanisms and emerging technologies.

The programme reaffirmed the efforts of MSME-DNC Leh towards enhancing awareness and capacity building among artisans and supporting them in accessing various institutional support mechanisms.
