KARGIL: Additional Deputy Commissioner Kargil Shabir Hussain (JKAS) on Tuesday conducted the mandatory quarterly physical verification and inspection of the EVM/VVPAT Warehouse at Kurbathang Plateau near the LAHDC Secretariat, as part of the prescribed procedures under the Election Commission of India.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of concerned officers and representatives from the Police, Treasury, National Informatics Centre (NIC), Election Cell, Fire and Emergency Services, besides representatives of political parties.
During the inspection, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the security arrangements, sealing procedures and maintenance of records pertaining to the EVM/VVPAT warehouse.
The prescribed procedures for opening and closing the warehouse were also carried out in accordance with the norms and guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
The physical verification provided for an inspection of the arrangements and records maintained at the warehouse in the presence of officials and representatives of the concerned stakeholders.
The inspection process was completed smoothly in accordance with the laid-down guidelines and in the presence of all stakeholders.
