LEH: The Police Training School (PTS), Stongsar, Chuchot inaugurated the Basic Training Programme for newly recruited Special Police Officers (SPOs), with senior police officers calling upon recruits to uphold discipline, integrity and professionalism as they begin their induction into the police service.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Ladakh Range, IPS, as the chief guest, along with the Commandant, IRP 25th Battalion-cum-Principal, PTS Stongsar, IPS, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Training), PTS Stongsar, JKPS, and the Chief Drill Instructor.
The training programme brings together newly recruited Special Police Officers from Sham, Changthang, Zanskar, Drass and Nubra, marking the commencement of their foundational training at the police training institution.
Addressing the recruits, the Deputy Inspector General emphasised the values of discipline, integrity, professionalism and dedication, describing them as the cornerstone of effective policing. He urged the recruits to remain committed to public service, maintain the highest standards of conduct and utilise the training period to prepare themselves for the responsibilities of police duty.
Welcoming the new recruits, the Commandant-cum-Principal of PTS Stongsar outlined the objectives of the Basic Training Programme and encouraged them to maintain discipline, build physical and mental resilience and pursue excellence throughout the course.
The inaugural programme concluded with an interactive session between senior officers and the recruits, formally marking the beginning of the training programme designed to equip the newly recruited SPOs with the professional skills, discipline and operational preparedness required for policing duties across Ladakh.
