LEH: Former Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC) of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with BJP Ladakh President Tashi Gyaltsan Khachu, on Friday discussed the growing challenge of drug abuse with newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), Ladakh, Anand Jain (IPS), stressing the need for coordinated measures to curb the menace.
During a meeting with the DGP, the leaders deliberated on issues concerning Ladakh, with particular emphasis on strengthening collaborative efforts to prevent substance abuse and work towards making the Union Territory a drug-free region.
According to a statement, the discussion focused on exploring coordinated strategies involving stakeholders to address the emerging challenge of narcotics and reinforce preventive initiatives across Ladakh.
The meeting also marked a courtesy call on the newly appointed Director General of Police, during which Gyalson and Khachu congratulated Anand Jain on assuming charge and conveyed their best wishes for his tenure.The interaction reflected a shared emphasis on addressing issues of public concern through closer coordination between the administration, law enforcement agencies and the community, the statement added.
