Wafa raises Roads, Water and Edu issues in Choskore
KARGIL: The BJP has criticised the absence of Choskore Councillor and District Congress President Nasir Munshi from the recently concluded Budget Session of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, alleging that the constituency was left without representation during discussions on development priorities and budget proposals.
In a statement, BJP Block Kargil General Secretary Bashir Ahmad Wafa said the Budget Session was the appropriate forum for councillors to raise constituency-specific issues, seek allocations for pending works and articulate public concerns. He alleged that Choskore’s interests could not be represented in the House due to the councillor’s absence.
The BJP leader listed a series of pending issues in the constituency, including the deteriorating condition of the main road, debris along roadsides, slow progress on the Chappring-Lober-Daltum road, the pending Nakthol check dam project and unresolved drinking water shortages despite the Jal Jeevan Mission. He also alleged inadequate attention to schools, healthcare facilities and employment-related initiatives for youth, including coaching support for competitive examinations.
Wafa appealed to Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, to intervene and expedite pending development works, arguing that residents of Choskore deserve equitable development, improved public services and effective representation in the Council.
